"Xalapa, Your House in the City" will be the national pilot project of the new FOVISSSTE program YOUR HOUSE IN THE CITY, which will establish the guidelines and scope for the development of future multi-family social housing complexes, understanding their integration with the immediate context and fulfilling the main objective of offering decent housing for state workers in consolidated urban contexts.
Xalapa Your House in the City will consist of 275 homes located on a 2.5 hectare plot of land, 40% of which will be an ecological reserve. The architectural proposal is by the ESTUDIO CARME PINÓS firm. Ágora is in charge of all the exterior areas.
The proposal for outdoor areas seeks to generate a public space, a large plaza with programmed spaces within it that serve both the resident population and the floating population: The plaza within the plaza.
The aim is to create a worked topography using “origami” gestures. The constructed elements seek to emphasise the flows and direct the user towards the different destinations and interior squares.
