Cibeles Square
Mexico City (2015)
Participation within the Public Space Authority of Mexico City.
An urban renewal intervention of this monument with an important heritage value located in the heart of Mexico City. After the urban intervention, it has become one of the most successful public spaces in the city, used throughout the day by a wide variety of people who enjoy its spatial qualities. The presence of seating and shade inside the roundabout allows people to enjoy the presence of the fountain, to rest and to socialize.
The renovation and sidewalk widening has facilitated pedestrian and cycling transit, also allowing for seating areas with fountains and benches, harmonizing with the existing cafes and restaurants located around the square.
