Participation within the Public Space Authority of Mexico City
Taking as a starting point that the street is the public space par excellence, the pilot project of tactical urbanism #Micalle 20 de Noviembre was developed in collaboration with the Public Space Authority of Mexico City. The intervention focuses on recalibrating the different functions of the street space, balancing the transit function with that of enjoyment and stay. By recovering a space previously occupied by the automobile, a pedestrian oasis is created equipped with urban furniture: chairs, tables, umbrellas and flower pots. The primary objective of the project is to inhibit the use of the automobile in the Historic Center of the city, and progressively pedestrianize the streets to create more friendly and attractive environments.
