Soft City
New Delhi, India (2014)
Academic project in collaboration with Jimena Romero and Feyza Koksal
The project consists in a strategy to accommodate the fast growing population of New Delhi through the reuse of residual spaces inside the urban core, and bringing together two different urban patterns. The proposal is located in the Bungalow area, one of the best connected and with the most green area in the city, with well kept infrastructure and a rigid urban pattern. Within the area an informal settlement coexists with a completely organic urban pattern. The project is developed in the residual areas between the two urban patterns, contemplating potential future developments in diverse densities along with a system of open spaces that stimulates coexistence between formal and informal, promoting equity and bringing New Delhi's citizens access to their own city.
